Warranty And Warranty Adjustments
Applicable to XENON LAMPS
Spectrolab. Inc. (“Seller”) warrants the XENON lamps which are the subject of this sale to be free from defects in workmanship and material for a warranty period which shall terminate one year after the date of shipment to Buyer or after the lamp has been operated for 400 hours, whichever shall first occur. Warranty adjustment shall be in the form of a credit against the purchase price of a replacement lamp. In the case of lamps that fail during the first 50 hours of operation, the credit shall be 100 percent the purchase price of the replacement. In the case of lamps which fail after more than 50 hours of operation, the credit shall be prorated linearly over the remaining 350 hours of guaranteed life. This Warranty is subject to the following conditions:
1. Buyer shall return to Seller within 15 days after observing defective performance any product believed by Buyer to be defective. Under all circumstances, such return must take place not later than 15 days after the expiration of the Warranty.
2. Unless the defect observed by Buyer was the failure of the glass envelope, the product will be returned to Seller intact.
3. Buyer will complete and return with each lamp Seller’s warranty claim form, a copy of which is attached to this Warranty.
4. The lamp shall have been operated in accordance with the operating practices set forth in Seller’s Instructions for the Operation of XENON Lamps with Spectrolab Illumination Systems. Seller believes that it has furnished a copy of those instructions to Buyer; however, at Buyer’s request, it will promptly furnish an additional copy at that time.
5. Seller will not assume responsibility for defective performance or failures occasioned by misuse, neglect or accidental or intentional damage.
Seller warrants title to the product. It is the purpose of this document to set forth all of Seller’s warranty responsibilities concerning the product. There shall be no other warranties, expressed or implied.
THERE SHALL BE NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Seller shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages.
Seller’s election not to enforce the provisions of this Warranty in any particular instance or instances shall not be deemed waiver of such provisions and shall not preclude Seller from enforcing those provisions on any later occasion.
INSTALLATION DATA
1. Read all equipment and lamp instructions before installing lamp.
2. Always wear protective mask and clothing while handling lamp.
3. Operate lamp only on factory-approved systems.
4. Periodically check cooling system, fan and air filter.
5. Check all electrical connections for tightness and cleanliness. Clean or replace discolored or pitted connectors and adapters.
6. Do not look directly at operating lamp.
HOW TO EXTEND LAMP LIFE
1. Inspect all adapters.
2. Operate lamp only in approved installations with correct voltage system.
3. Maintain proper cooling as indicated in equipment manual.
4. Do not touch quartz envelope. If accidentally touched, use isopropyl alcohol and Kleenex tissue to clean it.
5. Regularly clean all optical components.
